LabelEye can analyze:
  • Food Products: Packaged foods, beverages, snacks, supplements
  • Cosmetics: Skincare, makeup, hair care, personal care products
  • Household Items: Cleaning products, detergents (coming soon)
  • Pet Products: Pet food and care items (coming soon)
We use specialized databases and AI models optimized for each category to provide the most accurate analysis.

Scanning & Input Methods

You have multiple options to analyze a product:
  • Upload Photo: Take a picture of the ingredient list and upload it
  • Paste Text: Copy and paste ingredients directly from a website or document
  • Barcode Scan: Enter the product barcode to fetch from our database
  • Product Search: Search by product name or brand
For best results with photos, ensure the ingredient list is clear, well-lit, and in focus.
We support common image formats including:
  • JPEG/JPG
  • PNG
  • GIF (static)
  • WebP
  • PDF (single page)
Maximum file size is 10MB. For best results, use high-resolution images with good lighting.
If a barcode isn't recognized, it could be because:
  • The product isn't in our database yet (we're constantly adding new products)
  • It's a store-brand or regional product not in OpenFoodFacts/OpenBeautyFacts
  • The barcode was entered incorrectly
Try using the photo upload or text paste method instead. You can also search by product name.
Currently, LabelEye works best with English ingredient lists. We're working on adding support for multiple languages including Spanish, French, German, and more. The AI can sometimes handle other languages, but results may be less accurate.

Ingredient Analysis

Our analysis combines multiple trusted sources:
  • Database Information: We use OpenFoodFacts and OpenBeautyFacts databases with millions of verified products
  • AI Analysis: Advanced AI models trained on scientific literature and ingredient databases
  • Safety Ratings: Based on FDA, EU, and other regulatory body classifications
While we strive for accuracy, always consult with healthcare professionals for medical advice, especially regarding allergies or health conditions.
We classify ingredients into three main categories:
  • 🟢 Safe (Green): Generally recognized as safe for most people, naturally derived or well-studied
  • 🟡 Neutral (Yellow): Common additives with no major concerns for most people, may have specific considerations
  • 🔴 Caution (Red): May cause reactions in sensitive individuals, controversial ingredients, or those with limited safety data
Remember: "Caution" doesn't mean dangerous - it means you should be aware and make informed decisions based on your needs.
We identify common allergens including:
  • The top 9 FDA allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, sesame)
  • Common sensitivities (gluten, lactose, sulfites)
  • Cosmetic allergens (fragrances, preservatives, essential oils)
Allergens are highlighted in our analysis with clear warnings. However, always check product labels directly for the most current allergen information.
E-numbers are codes for food additives used in the European Union. They include:
  • E100-199: Colors
  • E200-299: Preservatives
  • E300-399: Antioxidants and acidity regulators
  • E400-499: Thickeners, stabilizers, and emulsifiers
  • E500-599: pH regulators and anti-caking agents
  • E600-699: Flavor enhancers
We explain what each E-number is, its purpose, and any health considerations.
